…And We’re Not Talking About Winning
Man, the guy in the #20 car is pissed! Tony Stewart, during his weekly radio interview on Sirius Satellite Radio on Tuesday, compared NASCAR to professional wrestling and claimed yellow caution flags were brought out to shape races. “It’s like playing God….they can almost dictate the race instead of the drivers doing it. It’s happened too many times this year.” Yikes.
Tony usually gets away with his biting comments, but not this time. When the team arrived to Talladega Friday for the Aarons 499, NASCAR officials wanted a word first, not even letting the team unload the car until the big heads got a chance to speak. A very contrite Stewart emerged from the meeting with a considerably different tone. The thought of (NASCAR) not being on the up-and-up was something I was frustrated about. But after having the meeting, I feel more confident it’s not that way, and I wish I would have went to NASCAR in the first place.” Ya think?
NASCAR was satisfied with just chewing some butt. Tony’s been slapped with a $10,000 fine plus being placed on probation until December 31st.
