Av’s almost out

Joe Sakic and the Colorado Avalanche

There’s a first time for everything, as the saying goes.  Since the Nordiques moved from Quebec to Denver to become the Colorado Avalanche, they’ve made the Stanley Cup playoffs every year, including 2 titles in 1996 and 2001.  The Av’s are chasing the Calgary Flames for the 8th place seed in the West, but it’s looking like it’s too little, too late. has got the long sleeve T’s with player numbers and names, and now they’ve got the short sleeve T’s, too.  Get your Joe Sakic shirt and all your Avalanche gear today!

Sydney Crosby of the Pittsburgh PenguinsIs the Kid the real deal or what?  In just his 2nd year, Sydney Crosby is leading the NHL in total points and is tops on the Penguins in total goals.  Now that Pittsburgh is keeping the team, this kid can be the focal point of the league (just don’t join Ben Roethlesburger’s  motorcycle club anytime soon).

Peter the Great Nashville-Bound

Philadelphia Flyers, once looking like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, traded Peter Forsberg to the Nashville Predators for Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, and two draft picks.  The Predators, tops in the NHL for point, have to be ecstatic on the trade even though Forsberg, only 33 years old, has suffered with constant foot injuries.  Now’s your chance to get a Forsberg Nashville jersey.
